much ado about nothing
Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan transforms "Much Ado About Nothing" into a high-seas adventure set on the pirate island of Messina. Captain Don Pedro and his swashbuckling crew arrive to find that young Claudio falls hard for Hero, the leader's daughter, while the sharp-tongued Benedick and Beatrice trade insults that cut like cutlasses. Don Pedro's treacherous brother Don Jon threatens to sink the whole romance with lies and betrayal, but in the end, no pirate can outsmart their own heart.
The production runs three hours with an intermission and features theatrical combat, flashing lights, sudden loud noises, and staged haze. The show includes mature themes and relationships, so check the full content advisory on the website before you go.
