Buds' legendary Saturday afternoon jam has run since 1984, started by the one and only Big Dave McLean. Players sign up and rotate through the afternoon while the blues crowd settles in for the long haul — it is as close as Saskatoon gets to a standing musical institution. Bring an instrument or just a seat; either way the room does the rest. Runs 3 to 8pm every Saturday.

a few walkable blocks in Nutana lined with independent shops, cafes, restaurants, bars, and the Broadway Theatre at its heart. it is the part of town built for wandering, where you can start with a coffee, browse a couple of stores, and end the night with a pint or a film. the patios fill up in summer and the strip stays lively after dark year-round. easy to do on a whim, with or without a plan. one of the most pleasant stretches in the city to simply walk.
